Last weekend, my friends and I headed over T House, Tagaytay. Our friend J was still in a very playful mood that she didn’t tell us where we’d be heading, and just asked us to follow her car. We were guessing if we’d go to Antonios, but she said no, and we were almost hopeful we’d go back to our ( M and I’s ) favorite Tagaytay resto, Buon Giorno, but J promised us something new. Well, T House is surely something new, and I immediately connected it with one of Anton’s entries about him trying out the place!

The place was very Zen-like , for all I could see was black and white interior design except for the color of the chairs, and we only made do with an electric fan instead of an air-conditioned room, as we also enjoyed the chilly air that Tagaytay is famous for.

T House offers set meals that consists of 2 soups, 1 salad, 1 main course, and 1 desert. Here’s what me and my friends had :

I had fresh tomato ( the red one ) and mushroom ( the off-white one ) soup. The tomato was very sour which reminded me of an authentic spaghetti sauce ( lo-love ! ) and the mushroom soup was a delight - a puree version of Campbell’s mushroom soup - still coarse.

I had a Tuna Salad, and boy oh boy, I just love the vinaigrette! I just kept dipping my vegetables in it! I wasn’t crazy about the tomato chunks so I didn’t eat them.

For my main course, I really enjoyed the Fish Fillet in Saffron Sauce with Shittake Mushrooms. All I can say is , YUM.

Well , my friends were a hearty bunch that they shared with me their main courses too! ( as I shared mine with them! )

K’s Chicken Barbeque with Corn and Mashed Potatoes were a dream. The sauce was very very flavorful!

J2’s Grilled Chicken with Pesto. I loved the pesto ( I always love pesto. Haha! )

For the really hungry ones, this Roast Pork with Mashed Potatoes was a real good treat. M could hardly finish this because of its size! Of course, I was just beside her, well, lucky me! Haha!

All throughout the meal, there were at least three kinds of mashed potatoes in the table. No, they weren’t generic, or just one kind, because I was able to taste one kind of mashed potato, that was flavored with wasabe, that one of my friends couldn’t finish, so I asked for half of her serving! Haha!

I think this is the one! It’s B’s! It’s Salmon Meuniere with Wasabe Potato Mash ( yes, nagiimbento nanaman. haha )

For dessert, we had Banana and Langka Crumble. It’s just like Apple Crumble, but with different fillings! We had mixed reactions , some liked it ( like me ), and some didn’t ( who tried to shove theirs to me hahaha! )

After our hearty lunch ( at 3:30 pm ) which set us back 550/head ( plus drinks ), we headed to the spa to check out their facilities. They have Ilog Maria bath products there as well as imported spa products. We roamed around some more and here are some scenic shots.

Overall, I would want to go back to this place again because it’s quiet, relaxing, and the food is great. I would want to have an overnight slumber party with my girlfriends with the affordable room rates that they are offering, too! Now, that would be so much fun!
