Comfort Food With Pixie’s Sinugba

On our way home from some shopping, my family members were feeling drained, and of course, very much feeling budget-ty because of the shopping done. ( I used to not feel guilty about this, but hey, age makes me feel like not spending when I’ve spent too much! ) , so we just decided to get some takeout on the road and eat them at home.

My dad stopped by Araneta Avenue ( on the right side, going to Balintawak area ) and decided to get us food from Pixie’s Sinugba. That certain franchise is my dad’s really good friend’s, and that led to my introduction to this mini-resto of some sort. Pixie’s Sinugba is a takeout place that offers mainly Boneless Bangus, and other dishes, as well.

Pixie’s Boneless Bangus ( milkfish ) is well, bangus without bones! I feel such relief in eating fish without the need to segregate the fishbones ( tinik ). It’s also stuffed with lemongrass, onions, and tomatoes. I’d have to say that I love this! The flavor’s just right, and dipped in toyo-mansi, plus crushed chili, this is my comfort Filipino food. I can even eat this with my hands! Haha! Priced at around 200-250, this can fill at least 5 tummies. Haha!

Their dinuguan is very delicious. I love it. As compared to other resto’s who serve dinuguan, this one’s pretty hefty in servings, as well as the meat content ( some just pack on the sauce but don’t really put on too much meat ). As an exotic food lover like me, it surely tickled my taste buds. Adding some vinegar surely does the trick. I think this is below a hundred bucks. ( 60-80 bucks )

Okay, I saved the best for last. The dish that completely won me over , as I told dad to order this every single time he drops by Pixie’s is their fish lumpia. From the lumpia wrapper strangely sweet, crispy and tasting oh so delectable, I sink in my teeth to ground fish, as I sigh in total bliss. Believe me, this is the winner of all their dishes! Go grab one! 6 pieces for 60 bucks is quite affordable already, considering each piece is not too small, about medium sized, perhaps!

Overall, Pixie’s Sinugba is a very affordable takeout place that truly won’t disappoint. Their dishes are tasty, and delicious that would be a perfect lunch or dinner when you’re too lazy to cook, and want some comfort Filipino food. I just noticed that my folks are always in a good mood after eating food from Pixie’s because we don’t really eat Filipino food alot, and our tummies are filled with yumminess right after!
