First of all, after a long, long hiatus, I’m finally back!

I got my food blogging mojo back, and what’s the culprit? The ever festive, binge-eating Holiday Season, of course!

Well, to start, lately, I have been feeling hungry, and sleepy lately. Much like a case of a pregnant woman ( but I assure you, I’m far off from that ), and today, my tastebuds suddenly demanded a craving, as it made me say, “Mom, I want lumpiang shanghai for lunch. Serious!”. My ever-game mom said, “blowout mo?” “Ma, I have like 200 bucks here.” “Oh, that’s just enough! I’m ordering 2 orders of lumpiang shanghai and one order of tsa-mi ( tossed noodles ) for lunch. “

My mom ordered the usual delicious lumpiang shanghai we usually have delivered from Golden Chinese Food House, a restaurant nearby our house. It’s situated in Del Monte Avenue, near Banawe street, and admittedly, I haven’t tried dining there as we would always call to have food delivered there. I love, love their food because first of all - they’re Chinese - something that I wouldn’t mind eating ALOT of since Chinese food is my comfort and binge-eating cuisine, and I just love their lumpiang shanghai, amongst alot of dishes that I’ve tried there, like taosi fish fillet, and others.

It was the shock of my life as mom just added 61 pesos to my money as the delivery guy came along. I haven’t been really checking the pricelist of Golden Chinese Food House, but I asked mom how much they were. Turns out, one order of lumpiang shanghai costs 88 pesos for 16 pieces ( that’s ALOT already! she ordered two, one for dinner ) and one order of tsa-mi costs 85 pesos. Total bill was 261.00. My gosh, and to think that during my college days, I would eat something worth 200 pesos for lunch, while this single receipt definitely fed a family of five ( we’re actually 7, but the two kiddies were at school ).

Okay, aside from the good prices they have, let me rave about how their food fares on my tastebuds. My all time favorite lumpiang shanghai is very very crispy, and I love the meat inside, and I love the sweet and sour sauce that I dip these heavenly lumpias in. As for the tsa-mi, it’s much like lo-mi, but a bit less sauce. I love how flavorful it is, and can even compare it with really good Chinese resto’s in the metro! Overall, my hearty lunch left my growling tummy all satiated, and very much spoiled.

So, if you’re living nearby ( Banawe or Del Monte Area, ) I’d recommend you to give Golden Chinese Food House a call and try their food! Much, much recommended by me!
